Steam newbie here! What is a dedicated server? I'm fairly new to PC- gaming. What exactly does a dedicated server do? Does it improve online multiplayer? Do I have to activate it when I want to play online? Basically what it does is run a game server for that game. Like if you want to host your own server, you run the dedicated server. For the MW3 servers, it is said that you can control your unlocks such as weapons, camo, etc. I think it's easier to understand compared to the regular game client.
